Should I buy another GTX 970 or invest in something else?

Hey guys!
Currently I have GTX 970 (I guess it's the regular version), which I overclocked to 1411 MHz. My CPU is i7-4790k. Should I buy another one and play in SLI or replace it with GTX 980 or something else? If to work with SLI, does it have to be exactly the same model as my current one or I can choose overclocked version? I don't want to upgrade my PC any time soon, so I want to be set for a good time. Also, I don't play in 4k, only in 1080p (however, I may invest in some good 4K TV next year).
Thanks everyone for help!

The 980 is only about 10-15% more powerful but can utilise all 4gb VRAM. The 980ti is due to release soon and is a 6gb card.

The problem with the 970 is it can only really utilise 3.5gb vram and with games already using 3gb plus even on 1080p that doesn't leave much room for future games

Well, I'm thinking to upgrade to be able to achieve 60fps in any game. Currently I can't really maximize the Witcher 3 (I'm close to it), so I was just wondering. So should I wait for gtx 980ti, which I can replace with Gtx 970 + some money ans later on in the future get another one in SLI?
