I am getting a nice discount on Antec TruePower 750w from a friend who doesnt need it anymore.
My pc has been shutting down randomly and restarting every since i upgraded my graphics card from a 960 to a 1060.
I'm guessing it's my powersupply (corsair vs550) which is malfunctioning. (also heard it's not a good psu at all)
So my end question is, Is Antec TruePower 750w a psu that i should buy?

My specs
Gpu - msi gtx 1060 6gb oc v2
Cpu - i5 3470
Ram - 12 gb 1600Mhz ddr3
HDD - 2 x 2 tb and 1 x 500 gb
Motherboard - Not exactly sure which one it is

Is the Corsair vs series really that bad? Or are those just rumours that i've been listening <:

No. You can do much worse. They get a bad rap because the old version wasn't very reliable and in the Corsair line-up, it IS the cheapest Corsair branded PSU you can get.

I don't know how old your VS550 is. If it has the "VS" in orange on the side label, that's the older version and isn't very reliable. But, like I said, there's still worse out there.
