Hi, I am still waiting for my Trident Z DDR4 3200C14 64GB memory modules to arrive. Delivery has been delayed. It seems that DDR5 memory will be available for purchase at the end of this year or earlier next year. Moreover, they are at twice the speed as the DDR4. In this case, it is better to buy DDR4 32GB now and upgrade to DDR5 64GB later this year or earlier next year? Will the prices for DDR5 memory modules be similar to those of the current DDR4 modules? I suspect that for the next 6-9 months, 32GB is probably enough for me but I may need more later. My current CPU is i9-9900K and I use Z390 MB.

Does Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro also use Samsung B-die that Trident Z DDR4 use?

Solution
You would need a new motherboard and CPU to use DDR5 memory. The 9900K only supports DDR4. Basically you will need an entirely new rig to use DDR5.
As above, ddr5 be new platform just like ddr4 superseding ddr3.

Regarding bdie, if those kits are 3000 CL 14 or 15 most likely they are. If CL 16 3000 most likely Hynix. Intel aren't as sensitive to ram ICs like Ryzen is or has been.

Memory prices are predicted to slowly drop this year, unless memory suppliers cut production again. DDR5 won't be as cheap as DDR4 for at least 2 years from now, so buy what you need now. I was lucky and bought 64GB 4x16GB CL14 3000Mhz TridentZ in March 2017 for a Ryzen 1700 build and it only cost me $440, I was upset because if I would've bought it a month sooner I could've got it for about $400. Now it runs nearly $800-$1000, so I'm not so upset any more... basically it is a crap shoot...

Anybody knows for sure if this has Samsung B-die RAM?

VENGEANCE® RGB PRO 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C14 Memory Kit

I order Trident Z on Dec 22. It was supposed to be delivered today after long delay but for strange reason, it went to the opposite end of the country. Now I have to wait all over again!

Given the same DDR4 3200C14 specs, how is the Trident Z RGB RAM compared with the Corsair VENGEANCE Pro RGB?

Between those two, no different apart from aethstetics.

Its hard to know for sure what IC chips memory uses unless someone has asked before and got an answer. One clue memory use bdie is 3200 with cas timing of 14 or 15. Hynix/Micron are commonly found on higher latency models of the same speed. Which IC chips used doesn't really matter for Intel. It did matter on Ryzen but they to have gotten a lot better.
