Should I buy GTX TITAN or GTX 690?

I am thinking to get a new graphics card and this time the best one. I have compared GTX TITAN And GTX 690. The GTX 690 seems to have more cores, more of clock speed but less of memory. Please help to make a choice for me.

Secret option number 3 : Get a GTX780.
Performs basically the same as a Titan for $350 less. You only get 3GB of VRAM, which really isn't an issue going to be an issue until the card itself is long obsolete anyway.

Depends on your monitor(s)

For three displays, the Titan's 6GB makes sense for future proofing. Two or three of them will max out any game on three screens.

For 2560X1600 displays, two 780s' are probably your best bet.

For a 1920X1080, one 780 is great.

if you want titan like performance without the need to spend a grand get 780. only get the titan if you application or work related stuff heavily needs double precision

Agree with the above get a GTX 780 it is really the best option. The Titan is just way to much for a single card and SLI or Crossfire on a single card is really a bad idea no matter what card you get. If you need SLI get a second GTX 760 at a later time.

I would do 2x GTX 760 (4GB model not 2GB model). I read that SLI GTX 760 4GB performs up to 8% better than a Titan and at half the price!

As some of my fellow peers have said, both the Titan and the GTX690 are NOT good options, however you look at it.

They are both more expensive than they should be and you can get way better performance for far less money.

For single GPU, you can easily go with a GTX 770 / HD 7970 GHz .
780 is almost as fast as the Titan for 250 less.
Two 770's will be both faster and cheaper than all 780/Titan/690.

If you want SLI or the Titan skip it and the 690 and get two 770. If you want a single GPU without wasting a ton of money, get a 770 or a 7970 GHz. They perform about the same.

Mobo = Intel DH61WW (Upgrading to another board with more than 1 PCI-E Slot)
PSU = Cooler Master 350 W Power Supply

Please tell me a good place or website where I can buy the GTX 780 or 790 sereies. I live at Agra, India.
And I do not want ebay suggestion because I had a very bad experience with it.
Flipkart has gone worse. I thought to order a TITAN and then I placed the order. Then after entering the shipping address, it said that all the items in my cart cannot be delivered and this remains the SAME for EVERY PLACE I enter around India. 🙁

If those blokes can't deliver to Agra, they should stop their business.

Anyway, the best advice is to contact a local dealer and tell him specifically the model number, brand name etc and don't let him give you any technical advice. They are very ill-informed and they talk about graphics card in terms of vram, i.e. 1gb or 2gb grphics card etc. but they can give you a better deal.

Yes, you do have to get out on the streets or at least call a few people.

They might give you phone support too. I don't have a personal experience with any of these sites but they are sites dealing in specialized computer hardware. Flipkart is for goddamned shoes.

And one more option, if you get a good online deal but does not ship to your location, get it shipped to someone you trust, living in a deliverable place, i.e. the nearest city and collect it from them.

1. you need to re-install windows 7 with 64 bit to use complete 4GB ram with external graphics card.
2. Your PSU don't have enough power to handle DDR5 cards other than 7750.
3. No need to upgrade Motherboard, buy a good PSU of atleast 600-650W and then look for graphics card.

Also, what is your exact model of i5 as some are dual cores also.

If you plan on buying the 780, you really, REALLY, need a new PSU.

350W is underpowered for what you want. The 780 uses over 250. The CPU uses around 100. The rest of the system probably another 50+. Go buy a solid 550+ PSU.
