Should i buy a ryzen 7 3700x/ ryzen 9 3900x or should i wait for ryzen 5000 series to restock ? 😵
[ have to buy a motherboard too ':) ]

(one year back my pc got destroyed by a lightning strike , so i bought new pc with what i had, but i need a better CPU now for streaming. i currently create content with shadowplay but when using OBS the gameplay footage is laggy af due to thisi tiny CPU )

My current setup
cpu : i3 8100
mobo : rog strix h370 f
GPU : RTX 2070 super
Ram : corsair vengeance 8gb
4 tb HDD

Solution
I would wait as then if you buy now, you always be wondering later why you didn't wait.

If I was buying now I wouldn't get what I have... 3600. Not that its bad or anything, just that there is newer.

Either, 3000 or 5000 series Ryzen would destroy, annihilate what you have now in order of 500-1000% boost. If I was building a new system for those purposes I would grab a good x570 MB and 3800x allong with fast RAM (3600MHz+) and wait for a while for prices and availability of 5800x/5900x to stabilize if 3900x was not enough (but I doubt it).

i was waiting ofr ryzen 5000 series release .. unfortunately stock ran out :/

I got a 3600xt in August, I half wish i had waited but at same time, I get to use this now. I could be still waiting.

I am not one to buy a new CPU next year so I am stuck on 3600. It is still way better than what i had before and I haven't looked into the details of differences as I sort of don't want to know. It makes no difference now.

Buying right now seems the wrong time, this time of year is high demand enough without the circumstances of this year added on, i would wait till January as things might be a little more sane.
