I would like to buy a 19inch LCD with a fast response time for gaming. Does anyone have any guess if these types of LCD's are coming out soon or they will be out at the end of the year.

Thanks.

I have not heard any LCD panel manufacture announce a 19 inch panel faster than 25ms.

Summer is only two months away (June) I doubt it. I can only speak from history. Typically a panel manufacture announces a new panel, usually at a large trade show. Shortly thereafter they go into panel production typically 3-6 months. They seed the monitor manufactures with engineering samples. During this time the monitor manufactures design the monitor around the panel. This gives time for the panel manufacture to get volume ramped up for delivery to the monitor manufacture. Typically 3 – 6 months after seeding engineering samples. Assuming yields are OK.

Maybe someone has a panel that I don’t know about and it is closer, but I have not heard anything, let me know if you do.

I am looking at the NEC 1760nx. Would you recommend it. I noticed on your site that it is available. Do you offer a good return policy on dead pixels?

NEC makes good products, however their dead pixel policy is up to 15 dead sub pixels. For example Planar is a maximum of 3 and Hitachi a maximum of 5.

Planar and Hitachi both have advance replacement warranties. If the unit fails they ship you a new unit via air in 48 hours. Under a standard warranty like NEC you ship the unit to the repair center wait 4-6 weeks until they fix it and ship it back to you.

We offer a 30 day return policy, you can return the unit for any reason within the first 30 days and get a refund, no restocking fee. This is not a replacement program, we will honor the manufacturers dead pixel policy.

Between the 2 monitors which one switches between DVI and Analog easier. I have 2 machines one of them has DVI the other does not. Also, I noticed that you are out of stock on the 174B but you have the 175B. Is it the exact same monitor but they added speakers and a headphone jack.

Thanks for your answers.

You go through the OSD to switch inputs so they are about the same. Yes the CML175 is literally the same as the CML174, the CML175 has speakers and a headphone jack.

Ok. You guys at Monitor Direct have been great. And I will buy my monitor from your company but I need to ask you another question. I use a KVM at home and when I looked at both of the manuals online it seems that the Hitachi has a 3 second delay when you use the auto adjust. The Nec does not say there is any delay. My question is when I switch back and forth between different machines with different resolutions will there be a delay and or screen movement from the autoadjust. If so which one is faster. I had a sony LCD and everytime I switched machines there was a 2 second auto adjust that made the screen move and it drove me crazy.

Thanks for all your help and I will be a customer shortly.

I do not recommend KVM switches, never will. KVM switches are notorious for causing ghosting and streaking and other artifacts on the screen. You are planning on purchasing a really nice monitor with a digital interface and you are going to run it through a KVM switch. Save your money run down to Costco and purchase the cheapest LCD you can find.

Let me clarify. I have a home office in which I will be connecting some work computers to the same LCD as well as my game machine. My game machine will connected directly through via DVI. When I am gaming it will not be going through the KVM. Hope that clarifies. Can you help me with my question.

Yes there will be a delay when switching from DVI to analog. The auto adjust needs a short time to sync up, this is common on many LCD monitors
