I disagree.
2700x has higher base frequency which is needed for games.

Above voters probably mistaken with 3600x.

3600 has 3.6GHz base frequency while 2700 is 3.7GHz.
3600x however if you find is 3.8GHz

the 3600X is faster in games....which games? All games. PERIOD.

Any research comparing the two in games (any games) will reach the same conclusion...which has been widely known for more than a year now.

Sure, 3600 eks.
but he's (@Ekron ) asking for non-X version.

Although I'd say 3600 is still a better purchase than 2700x. It's a tiny bit slower but power usage (65w vs 105w) makes it the way to go.

Base frequency is irrelevant as it won’t be running at base while gaming. You also cannot compare CPU’s of different generations based on frequency. See comparison videos already posted.

I own a 2700X and it's primary issue is heat. Like other high TDP processors it can be difficult to keep it cool, particularly if you have high ambient temps already. (I make assumptions on your weather in India). Between the two I would get the 3600.
The plus side is that if you (also) get an appropriate 5xx or nice 4xx motherboard you will have the later option to use the 5xxx series of Ryzen.

@sizzling
I can't access YouTube.
I watched this:
https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Ut41137sf

benchmarks show 3600 is better for most games, while 2700 wins in far cry new dawn, hitman 2, world war z.

@punkncat
I'm not a gamer. I'd just get 3600X instead of 3600 or 2700x. my current cpu is 125w

this video shows 2700 is hotter in game:

Even by your own videos the few cases where the 2700x has a higher number it is tiny, in the range of normal variation. The cases where the 3600 wins it has a greater lead. Overall the 3600 has the lead. Here is a review from a reputable site and the 3600 is ahead, although it isn’t much https://www.anandtech.com/show/15787/amd-ryzen-5-3600-review-amazons-best-selling-cpu/16

6 top selling CPUs are AMD? it's hard to stand after 6 slaps.

What? Explain

I just wanted @Ekron to look for 3600x price before making decision. that's selling good, so may be comes with competitive price.

You said

Which I was showing is irrelevant and cannot determine game performance as overall the 3600 performs better.

Happy for the OP to look at the 3600x
