Should i buy the evga gtx 690

so i cant decide on my gpu i watch reviews and the evga gtx 690 looks mouth watering. im not rich but i am willing to save a few extra dollars for this card. im just not sure if im going to need that much power im a hardcore gamer but my current monitor is a hp 2311x and can only support 1080p should i do it?

no gtx 670 is more than enough for 1080p

670 why not even the 680? 670 is really taking it down i do plan on getting a higher res monitor eventually. i have a 660 ti now i feel that it will not be worth the jump from a 660 ti to a 670.

I'd wait for the GTX 7__s or Radeon 8___s if you have a 660Ti. At 1080P a 680 or 670 probably wouldn't be worth the money. Maybe get a 770 or 780 in a few months. You could even get the 790. I just wouldn't want to fork out hundreds of dollars for something that will be inferior in a few months.

You could always add another monitor at a later date and get the 690. What are your current specs?

For 1080p a single 660 ti is fine, since you have one, i don't see the point of getting the 690 gtx, if it were for a triple monitor setup a 690 gtx would have been more valid.
If you have a motherboard with SLI support you can add another one(660 ti) later.

True, I've had a GTX580 (equivalent to a GTX660Ti) for 18 months and I still haven't found a need to buy a new video card because I use a single 1920x1080 monitor.
