Should i buy the Tri-X R9 290 or the Gigabyte G1 GTX 970

As the title asks, should i get the Tri-X R9 290 or the Gigabyte Gaming G1 GTX 970? Where i live, the GTX 970 is $100 more expensive than the R9 290. Both GPUs come with game bundles, the 290 comes with the Never Settle Space bundle and the 970 comes with either AC:U, The Crew or FC4.

Which one of these two cards should i buy?

The 970 will outperform the 290 in almost every single case. The bundle is also worth slightly more, while it's only one game, its a brand new 60 dollar game. The 970 will also use less power.

On the other hand, the Sapphire Tri-X cooler is a spectacular performer, and at $250, that 290 is a stellar deal. The performance isn't too big of a difference.

I would get the 290. Spend the $100 on some sweet games

Thanks man, I'll probably use that extra $100 on presents for my brother, sister and parents. And the AMD also comes with 3 games, ill probably sell/giveaway two of them and keep the Star Citizen package. Thank God that AMD lowered their prices, they're so cheap right now!

Indeed. I love my 970, but AMD GPU's always have good bargains.
