Should i buy this cpu

my current pc has a core 2 duo E6550 ant it is really slow in some games and when switching between apps , i have like 5gb of ram so that's not the prob , i know that i should get a i3 or i5 and up for games but im saving to build another pc myself so for now i only want to get the most of this old one , i buyed a gt 730 D5 to play some games

You can.For $16 CPU and a GT 730,you can play Battlefield 3 on medium.

thanks , another reason im buying it is that im thinking of trying to OC my current cpu from software setfsb to 3ghz if i can good , if the cpu dies i get the new one anyway 😀

I wouldn't bother. The difference between the two isn't very much. More so when you said you were going to OC. They are both same generation C2D dual cores, so the difference between them is small. I'd just OC your current CPU and save the $$$.

yeah but i will OC with setfsb so i dunno if it would OC , i don't have OC bios options so that's my only option , and if i can OC the 2.3ghz processor to 3ghz then it means that i can OC the 3ghz processor to 3.5 or 4ghz

Is this a laptop or a desktop? Might want to look into a BSEL mod.

it is a desktop and that mode seems cool , if i do it wrong the only thing ill demage is the cpu right ???

but that mod boots up everything at 7x333 so it is 2.3ghz the same as the one i have , or should i try it only for fun
