Ok so after hours of researching, i found out that my dvi-vga adapter is fake (passive maybe?) and i have gt 1030 brand new ..so to make it work,i have to buy an active one right?
http://www.amazon.in/Terabyte-Hdmi-Converter-Adapter-Cable/dp/B00S0C76GQ?tag=googinhydr18418-21&tag=googinkenshoo-21&ascsubtag=34f5ccdb-d7e6-42a6-83ad-9f9a44e46141

This seems like a good one which works.is it good? :3

will it work with my gt 1030 which as only dvi and hdmi port and my monitor has only vga...so will it work if i convert my GPU hdmi to my monitor VGA?

Your passive adapter is not "fake".

There is DVI-I and DVI-D.
DVI-I has the pinouts built in to support either digital DVI or analog VGA from the same port.
DVI-D is strickly digital.
Thus if you plug a DVI-I to VGA adapter into a DVI-D port it is not going to work.

The GTX 1030 (and all 10xx cards) no longer support a VGA monitor (not as a vga port, or as dvi-i port) as the OEM of the card is no longer spending money to support VGA only monitors from 10 years ago.

I can not view amazon.in on the network I am currently on so i cant verify that it is the right adapter.
Make sure the adapter says HDMI to VGA (and not VGA to HDMI), I would also suggest getting a reputable brand like aukey, anker, startech or iogear. So many cheap junk adapters on ebay and even amazon that I highly advise sticking to at least a name brand.

FYI my GPU is not "GTX" series..its only "GT" its a new released GPU..And i have checked that product and it seems working good for every customers..Almost everyone in the review section bought a high end-gpu like gtx 970 without even knowing that their monitor would't support the GPU...But they reviewed that this product helped them to play in 1080p and it worked fine..i just asked here to make sure its a good one..And everything here in india is expensive af..active adapter in USA is 20 to 30 $ but here it is 60$ :(
