Hello everyone, thanks for reading.

My place constantly experiencing Power Outtages. Like 4 or 5 times a week.

And so far I only use Power Strip. After much reading I realise that it's better to have some protection to prevent my component from being fried.

Therefore, do you think I should get UPS or Surge Protector?

My UPS is Seasonic Gold Plus 750w.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. What do you think of this UPS http://www.apc.com/shop/id/en/products/APC-Back-UPS-1100VA-230V-AVR-Universal-and-IEC-Sockets/P-BX1100LI-MS#?

Thanks for the reply. I live in a small town and this happen quite frequently. What do you think of this UPS http://www.apc.com/shop/id/en/products/APC-Back-UPS-1100VA-230V-AVR-Universal-and-IEC-Sockets/P-BX1100LI-MS#?

Good.
Depending on your system you can go with a lower VA rating, just enough time to safely shut down.
The higher the VA the more load /longer battery backup time there is. Consider monitor and other equipment in the equation.

Having overhead (room to spare on the battery) doesn't hurt though.

I suggest you look for reviews of the product, both on tech websites and consumer feedback; I have never used one, so wouldnt know good from bad.

Power cuts are common where I live as well, so a UPS is very important. Not only for the power cuts, but for the surges as well.
I use an APC 800, which allows a maximum of 450W to be used (because they also limit the power into your machine). If I push my computer hard, I can draw 550W and the APC will beep a lot, because I go over the threshold of it.

Anyway - if I am gaming the APC will last about 4 minutes, but normally I instantly shutdown when power problems occur and wait for it to get stable before switching it on again.
