Hello everyone 2 weeks ago i bought my new SSD due to hard drives death last month. So i went to BIOS to see what changes i should make and i saw the setting (i do not really remember how its called) its the setting that says change to IDE, AHCI or RAID. The current setting is IDE. Before my hard drive died i change this setting to AHCI and i got a blue screen saying UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_DEVICE. After the blue screen i changed the setting back to IDE. I think i have to change some registry settings to make AHCI work on the SSD. But what are the differences? i saw a video that says increases read/write speeds but im not sure. My read/write speeds of my SSD are about 234mbps read and 237mbps write (Yes im using a SATA 2 port) but in SATA 2 the maximum speed is 300mbps and i have 70mbps less. If i change the setting will i get like 40mbps more?
