Hey guise,

I've been mostly having issues with my the way my gpu has been running with the Windows 10 upgrade. I did not clean install after I upgraded. I have an ASUS GTX 970 Strix with the latest drivers (355.98). My frame rate has taken a hit in most games and do not preform nearly as well as it did before the upgrade. I know that the drivers are young, but I've heard people have gotten better performances from Windows 10 since upgrading. I also don't mind reinstalling the 20+ games I have if I have to clean install. I have all my music/picture files on a HDD and the OS on an SSD. If I clean install, does it only affect wipe files on my SSD since that's where the OS is? Sorry for all the questions, still new to this Should I clean install or reset?

Thanks.

Hi Anthony,

To answer you question regarding losing files: If your OS (Windows) is installed on the SSD then that is the only thing that will be erased when you clean install Windows back on the SSD. THAT SAID, if you decide to do a clean install do be careful to choose the correct drive to install on, or you will wipe your HDD by accident.

I can't help with your FPS loss after the Windows 10 update, hopefully someone else can chime-in on that one. :)

Thanks for clarifying that. I'm just going to reset and reinstall Windows 7 on my SSD. Been having nothing but problems with Windows 10.
