I have a ausus r558uq which has a 4gb 2133mhz ram but i want to increase the ram so should i buy a 4gb of 2133mhz or a 4gb 2400mhz ram. Also can they be combined For example: one 2133mhz and one 2400mhz both 4gb rams.

Solution
No, I would not replace the 2400mhz RAM. It wont harm the computer at all as the 2400mhz RAM is only running at 2133. The only risk is you may not get the system to boot. But since you installed it and it booted, you are good to go. Enjoy.
I would try an match the same model and speed if possible as that will give you the best probability that it will work. But you may not be able to find the same model either.

Mixing and matching RAM does not always work, this is why RAM is sold in kits as they are tested to work together. If you get the 2400mhz stick and the system boots, it will only run at 2133mhz because that is the lowest speed of the sticks.

Chances are, it will work, but I would get the second stick of RAM that accepts returns just in case.

Hey, Thanks for the answer. I just installed both RAMs 2133mhz and 2400mhz and it works. Bios is showing total of 8gb ram and windows 10 is working fine.
Though i just wanna ask should i replace the 2400mhz 4gb ram for the 2133mhz 4gb ram.
Its just that whether two different Mhz would cause any problems or any performance issues.(P.S Played Gta V)
