Hey I'm quite new to overclocking, and I always tried to stay away from it because I heard it makes your system more unstable and can reduce the life of your CPU. However in my upcoming gaming PC build I'd thought I'd give overclocking a go. I got the general gist on how to overclock in the BIOS, I've watched many tutorials, but one thing that's always on my mind is that do you always leave your CPU overclocked?
I plan on doing some hardcore gaming and using some very demanding software on this computer and the extra power will help, but I may not need the constant boost all the time. For example if I'm just skyping and browsing the web.
Do you guys leave your CPU overclocked?
Do you change the settings when you don't need the extra power?
Is there a setting that only applys the overclock when I need it?
Thanks for reading and replying
