It's completely your choice, but don't you use your computer for more than gaming? A computer can do more than gaming, whereas a console such as the PS4 won't be able to. If you're not able to upgrade your existing computer, then it maybe safe to assume you're short on cash?; if so, sticking with a PC which can also do more than gaming seems the most appropriate course of action.

If you're satisfied with your system, I'd stick with it to be honest. Going to a PS4 may leave you with regrets. Then again you know what they say, "no pain no gain" regardless I don't think that phrase applies here. There's no guarantee gain with a PS4.

Personally I use my computer for developing for the web, iOS (via VMWare), Android alongside using software such as Adobe Photoshop and even the minor Microsoft Office (amongst many more software). I also do use my computer for gaming casually, nothing serious (I'm not fond of many games, only GTA, Far Cry 3 and Watch Dogs). With all that said, for me I'd stick with a computer (and I don't have a console). Of course you'll use your computer for different purposes, so it's completely your call.

All in all, it's your choice.

All the best. :)

PS4 is great but games are expensive. No money for upgrade? No money for PS4 games.

PC Steam games are really cheap though.

I have 2 laptops which really aren't for gaming (i7 and an i3 with integrated GPUs) the only thing I use this computer for is for ''heavy'' gaming (Watch Dogs, WoW, Fc3 and if I don't get the PS4, GTA V)

It's not really about lack of money, it's just that I'm constrained when it comes to upgrading my PC due to the cost being bigger than the average game, for example:I would be allowed to buy 3 69$ games in a month, but not a GTX 760/HD 7870

3 ps4 games for month? it seems that you will be able to really enjoy this video gaming generation. Do you have any friends to gaming with you? I say go ahead!

Trust me. Don't. I own both and I never use my PS4 besides for BBC iPlayer (in bed) and Fifa. Nothing else. I'm actually considering selling my PS4 as it just sits there doing nothing. On the other hand, you can upgrade your PC (you may not have the money, but you still could if you wanted to) and it is way more powerful than a PS4! Games are cheaper as well, and instead of 3 69$ games a month, you could buy many more of Steam! Just don't. You WILL regret it!

I'm still on deep thought on wheter or not to exchange it, but the problem is my PC due to its graphic card is struggling a lot to run games at PS4 level and I seriously doubt I'll be able to play every game untill 2016 1080p on medium at least.

the only serious option i would consider when moving TO console is that are my friends there and can i play with them otherwise iMO i would stay PC and wait till Christmas to see if you get any money ( i guess ur a teenager if u are getting a PS4)
THEN BUY A PS4 with any extra money

however its urr choice and this is my unbiased opinion and what i would do

al the best

If there are games that you want to play on the PS4 and you are not opposed to playing games on a console, then I would say it is a fair trade.

I do not play console games, but I would say that the biggest benefit of using the PS4 (or XBox One) to play games is that any game designed for that console would be able to be played without any issues. Assuming the PS4 survives into 2020, any PS4 game released during that year will be capable of running on the PS4 and your experience will be the same as all other PS4 owners.Hardware only changes when a new generation console is released. A PS4 purchased in 2020 (unless the PS5 comes before) will have the same CPU and GPU as a PS4 you purchase today.

On the other hand, because PC hardware advances on roughly a yearly basis new games will continuously push the performance envelope. While it is possible to play a 2020 PC game on your current PC you will have to settle for low or at best medium graphic settings. Even then you can still have frame drops from time to time due to the fact that PC (especially AAA titles) are always pushing for better looking graphics which generally needs ever more powerful GPUs and a CPU that will not bottleneck the GPU.

In short, purchasing a console is an economical way to play games for the long haul. As long as it does and the controller do not break, you only need to spend money on purchasing the game itself. The downside is that because the hardware does not change, graphic quality compared to PC games will decline over time.
