Should I get a 1080, or wait for Nvidia's next gen gpu?

I'm currently saving up money for some new PC parts (I will have enough money in november) and I'm wondering if getting the 1080 would be too late now, or if it's a good pick. And also, what brand GPU should I get (like MSI's or evgas? etc.)

I am sure the GTX 1080 will handle any game coming out anytime soon.

Anything we say will be a guess as the game isn’t out yet but I’d expect the 1080 to be good for 1080p or 1440p @ 144Hz.

8gb of vram should be plenty up to wqhd. No need for anything better unless you plan on 4k or VR gaming. You may consider waiting for the 11xx series anyway because of the price drop it will give
