Should I get a 1080p or 1444p?

I plan on buying a computer with gtx 1060 3gb video card. I'm dead set on this card. My question is if I buy a 27 inch 1080p monitor, would it be a waste of time with this card or would I need a 1444p monitor for this card?

I'm trying to save money and not spend much, so the 1080p are cheaper. You can get one for less than $200, but 1080p on 27" may not look that great?

1080p with that card. Obviously a 1440p will be a better picture. But that card will have a very difficult time pushing decent fps at that resolution.

Agreed, 1080p at 27'' is okay. 1440p is going to put a fair amount of pressure on that card, particularly because you have the 3GB variant and higher resolutions highly favour 4+GB cards in most most games, unless you're sticking to Esports titles. So overall, 1080p will mean you can turn up the visual settings higher. Hope this helps!
