Hey guys,

A few months ago I built my pc for gaming which has a 6700k and a GTX 1070. However I also decided to get a benqxl2411z monitor, which is 1080p 144hz. I do play fps games but most of the time I am playing single player games, and I'm easily able to play at max settings I have read several posts saying how the gtx 1070 is overkill for 1080p. Should I get a 1440p monitor? I don't need to play at all max settings, gaming at high/ultra is fine, but I don't want to have to upgrade for at least 2 years. Would it be smart to buy a 1440p monitor in a few months?

For 1080p The Gtx 1070 Is Overkill

And The Gtx 1070 Is good Enough For Playing Games In QHD (1440p) But U Wanna Play Vr U Should Buy A Superclocked One Or Buy 1080

But For Now Yes Its Good Enough As long As Ur Cpu Is Good Enough For All Games In Next 2 Year I Think 😉

Thanks man so I will be sure to pick up a 1440p monitor around my birthday (may-ish) Do you have any recommendations for monitors? I am on a bit of a budget, so maybe a price anywhere from 200 dollars to 300 dollars. 144hz would be nice but with my price range I am not sure if it possible.

Thanks for the recommendation but did you accidentally send a 1080p 144hz one? If so its fine man we all make mistakes. As i said in my first post I own a benqxl2411z atm, a 1080p 144hz monitor. So if you can, could you find a decent 1440p monitor that would pair well with my 6700k and gtx 1070 ftw? Again thanks for all the help I appreciate it.

Alright well maybe i can do a bit more saving and sell my xl2411z. How much would a good one cost?

Thats a very good sale I may just save up for that one g sync could really help to reach the 60 + fps mark. Well thank you so much man I couldnt have done this without you. I will be back to this forum if i need any help from you

I'd like to offer a dissenting opinion. 1440p at 24" doesn't get you a lot - it really comes into its own at 27" and above. As far as refresh, I have to run BF1 at 1080p on my 1440p screen to get even 100fps (on 144hz refresh).

I'd say your monitor is just right for what you have at 24". If you can find the S2716DG on sale for around $500 it's the way to go and it includes gsync. Love mine.

Whatever you decide, happy gaming!
