Question Should i get a 144hz

hi should i get a 144hz, i have a 1060 3gb a i7 6700 and 8gb ram, i play esports games battle royale games and some survival games and i dont mind putting settings down, i plan on upgrading gpu soon, to a 2060 probably.

What do you have today? 60hz, 120hz?

What resolutions do you play in and do you normally go over 120fps?

Does quality of the picture matter?

I see you don't mind putting settings down but sometimes quantity vs quality is a trade off and with your GFX card you will likely have to sacrifice texture quality and resolution to get faster FPS to feed 144Hz. You maybe better served upgrading both at the sametime.

I don't think your GPU is good enough to justify 144hz yet. A 2060 maybe would be justifiable.
