There is a store near me that is having a clearance sale and this card is there. Would it be enough better than mine to be worth the $30??
Here is my system:

Athlon 500
3dfx Voodoo3 1000
192mb ram
FIC sd-11
and if you need more information just ask.

Xpert 128 uses the ancient ATi Rage 128 (Pro?) GPU, while
the Cougar uses the striped down version of the TNT2
GPU. Yeah, buy 'em if ya want for the price, but if
you want an improvement in your framerate, save up for
a better card, preferably in the Radeon/Gefore2 class

I would get the TNT2 M64... way better driver support from nVidia.

I used to have a rage fury 32 meg (uses same drivers I believe, unless they changed things recently), these have drivers that work fine with dx8, cant comment on the other card as Ive never owned one, I now have a GF2 which kicks the living crap out of the rage, but at the price, you cant really go wrong.

I ran 3dmark 2000 in winME and got: 2293. How is that score for Win ME?? That is with DirectX 8.0a. I loaded the latest for win2k and now when i try to run 3dmark 2000 it restarts. It gets to through the 1st benchmark and then restarts. On the store i saw that they added an ELSA erazor X. What about that card?? I've never heard of it. It looks to have an old Nvidia chipset. The GeForce 256. That card is $30.

If you don't play games then your current card is fine. But since computers were invented to play games, amongst other useful things, I recommend spending the extra money on an ATI Radeon 32MB DDR LE. newegg.com has them for $69 (+Fedex Saver Shipping $8.00).
You could also try your luck at ubid.com you should be able to win a Visiontek GF2 32MB for under $100. I won one for $84.

I do ocassional gaming. I typically use it for browsing the internet and stuff like that. I don't have any new games so what i have is working fine. I was thinking that i'll get the Radeon 64mb VIVO. That would do both games and net surfing. I think that after i get the radeon i will get some new games and then i'll probably upgrade my system to an athlon probably by then they will have the palomino out so that is probably what i will get. Does anyone know where i can get the radeon with 5ns memory instead of 5.5ns. I want a reliable place to get it from. I was thinking about getting it from buy.com Does anyone know if their radeons are 5 or 5.5ns??
