My Zotac RTX 2060 might be dead. I'm praying I can fix it. But in case I can't, I don't have too much budget right now so I'll have to settle for a downgrade unfortunately.

So between -

  • PNY GeForce GTX 1650 4G Dual Fan Low Profile 4GB GDDR6 Graphics Card (cheapest decent option from nvidia for me, is PNY a good brand tho?)
  • Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT Gaming OC 4GB GDDR6 Graphics Card (slightly expensive, still within budget, again is it a good brand?)
Which one should I buy? Or should I save more to get this ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3050 Solo 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card instead? It would cost quite a bit more (33% more than my budget) and from some reviews it seems to perform not that impressive for the cost. I bought my 2060 at the price the 3050 is available now. Some reviews show that 3050 performs very poorly compared to 2060. So I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Also rtx 2060 is hardly available in my area right now with the cheapest option costing 1.5x more than the price I bought it for, so that's out of the question.

My build-

i7-9700k

aorus z390 master

g skill 16 gb 3200 ddr4 ram

cooler master 650W 80 plus gold

Thanks in advance.

how much do both cards cost in your region?

Price reductions haven't reached you yet then. RX6600 are going for as low as $180 USD which is exactly your budget.

Well I don't like the 6500XT for an older system because it only has a 4x connection, and it and the 1650 are a huge step down from what you had.

RTX3050 is better than nothing, but if these aren't affordable you might consider looking at used products.

GTX1080 is roughly comparable to the 3050. RX5500/5500XT
GTX1080Ti is roughly comparable to the 3060 and RTX2070/Super RX5700/5700XT

I don't think you should look for anything under 10 series or RX5000 series if you want to keep it a while.

Good luck.

It will work, but it is a PCIe 4.0 card. Your system is PCIe 3.0

With 4.0 those 4x lanes act like an 8x PCIe 3.0 connection.

In your system that will be PCIe 3.0 x4, or half the designed bandwith.

Now those other cards are in the same situation, but they have 8x connections. And PCIe 3.0 8x is plenty fast, you might only lose a few percent.

(I am running a PCIe 4.0 x16 card at PCIe 3.0 x16, not too bad.)

That's a tuff call because the 6500xt only has a 64bit memory bus as well im sure of it. 64bit lol wtf

It was reviewed very poorly due to the lack of basic features. Even the RX5500 had 8x lanes and video encode.

Wait until you see the RTX 4050, highly likely that will also be a 4GB 64bit card.

lol no.
GTX1080 is much stronger than 3050.
Some 30% or more.
You were probably thinking 1070 or 1660Ti.
I suppose with DLSS 3050 probably does actually beat 1080... .
3050 is likely better at Raytracing since 1080 can do just software RT and I am not sure how many games support that.

I am aware this was "a bit"late, but I felt and still do that I had to.

They key is roughly, and that is actually very accurate depending on the game.

The more up to date features may really come in handy too.

he did mention prices in BDT, so that would be bangladesh

his prices
Gtx 1650 costs 18800 BDT
Rx 6500xt costs 22200 BDT
Rtx 3050 costs 30000 BDT

while mentioning that RX6600 is twice over his budget
Ah, I didn't see that because I was just answering the original question. I deleted my answer, thanks for telling me. ;)(y)

I looked at some Bangladeshi PC sellers and wow, you're right! How the hell can an RX 6600 cost 50% more than an RTX 3050? There's something not right going on there.

This was surprisingly good showing.
Because when it arrived benchmarks showed 3050 to be 1660Ti/1070 with more VRAM.
But yeah, DLSS alone likely makes it worth it over 1080.
