Should I get a GTX 980Ti or......

my specs are
CPU:i7-6700k OC- 4.6Ghz
GPU:none
MotherBoard: Gigabyte Z170-X Gaming 6
Ram:16gb DDR4 Kingston Hyperx 2133Mhz
PSU: EVGA Supernova 750w G2 80+ Gold ceritfied
Bootdrive:Samsung 850 evo 120gb SSD
Hard Drive: 1TB WD Caviar blue 7200RPM
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2
Case:NZXT Phantom 410
OS: Windows 10 Pro

So I just built this computer with these specs and I do not have a GPU yet for it and I have a good budget for the card i want i was wondering if it was worth getting a 980Ti now or waiting for a GTX 1080 custom PCB card or a GTX 1070. the reason why im asking is because i really want to start playing games and the wait for these new cards have been killing me I also plan at gaming at 1440p at Ultra setting at 60Fps so answer my question with that in mind thanks.

If youa are playing @ 1440p hang on for the new gen. Or shell out for the founders edition 1080. If you get the 980ti now, regret will start creeping in in about 6 months.

Or, you can buy a EVGA 980 ti from evga and then use their "Step-up" program to get a custom 1080 from them only paying the difference.
