should i get a i7 8700k or gtx 1080ti

i currently have a gtx 1070 and a i7 4790 (non k version) and 12gb 1600mhz and im looking for an upgrade and i have 2 options. option 1 is getting only a 1080ti and option 2 is getting an i7 8700 16gb ram i dont do much editing or stuff like that, i mostly play games and browse the internet.

Option 3: Hold onto your money, and continue saving. GTX 1180 is rumored to be released in two months. i7-9700K is rumored to be released in Q3 of this year. This is what I would do.

Your current hardware is good enough for many things incl. gaming. Would also suggest to save money for some more months and then think about an upgrade.

1. why do you want to upgrade, what are your current concerns in regards to your system?
2. what is your current system make/model of motherboard & make and model of your monitor please
3. what are you expecting the upgrade to do better than your current system

Not much benefit upgrading the CPU/mobo (yours is still good), upgrading the graphics card would be the way to get higher fps in games.

Also the GTX1080Ti would be kinda bottlenecked in CPU bound games, and since you got a GTX1070, that's already and awesome GPU. Just keep on saving to buy a brand new platform.
