Should I get a new CPU or GPU?

Hello,
I am trying to get into the streaming community and am wondering what I should upgrade to do so.
My current Build:
CPU: i3 6100
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H110M-A
GPU: MSI 47TH 370
My budget is $250.
Not sure which to upgrade and also what to upgrade to.

I noticed you didn't post how much RAM you had. 16GB is better for streaming.

i agree, with streaming its best to have a CPU with more cores so that I5 6600 linked above or if you have a big budget an I7 7700 will be your best bet

With the appropriate BIOS update. 6700 without the update.

sorry i forgot what chipset it was, you would need to go update the BIOS for something like the 7700. but not the i7 6700. but with any CPU upgrade you should always update the the latest BIOS

To me its a rock & a hard place here .
While a quad will give you more CPU overhead your GPU is drastically dated now.

It depends how you're recording the stream & what streaming services your actually using .
Also what games, what game settings & what resolution.

An i3 6100 can still do the job fairly well , I think in your case you're better dropping money on a RX 570 & saving the rest until you can upgrade the CPU aswell.

Straight off the bat the GPU upgrade will likely benefit you more if you can only afford one or the other.
