Should I get a new monitor?

I'm saving up to build a new gaming pc, and today I found a old monitor in my basement. It's an HPvs15 with a VGA port. should I stick with this one or buy a new monitor for my new build?

I would recommend a better monitor, the resolution for your current monitor is 1024x768. I run my games on a 1920x1080 monitor
