Hello all
I've had this pc for ~3 years now around the end of the first year one of the ram sticks died had to rma.
When I was troubleshooting it at the time testing the ram in different slots I did smell some faint burning smell but could not pinpoint it at all.
I took it to a Pc repair shop and they told me the ram stick died had it rma'd and system worked fine for the most times except for some times where I've had some crashes and I had to re-seat ram and clear cmos ect to get it to run.
Not sure if related but after that I could only get my pc to boot having my ram in only one of the Dual channel configs DIMMA1 + DIMMB1 even though DIMMA2 + DIMMB2 are labeled FIRST on the mobo.

What prompted me to look for some insight was recently I've had 2 pretty random full "Kernel" lvl crashes again both with the pc in idle in a game menu and paused vid on youtube.
I'm planning on upgrading my mobo and cpu soon but I'm kind of paranoid about the PSU could it possibly be at fault, or was it just the bad ram that possibly ruined a Dimm slot?

Current Specs: i5-7500
GTX 1060 6gb Windforce
2*8GB DDR4 Gskill Ripjaws V series 2133
MSI Gaming Intel B250
EVGA 600 BQ, 80+ BRONZE 600W

I intend to Swap to a Ryzen 5 3600

yeah it is not up to spec for your system and would defiantly need upgrading with your new parts something in the £100 mark would be good.

Evga g2/g3
Seasonic focus/prime
I would recommend an EVGA SuperNova Gold G2 / or new G3 /GS / GQ, Platinum P2 / PS, or Titanium T2 or a Seasonic M12-II Evo or S12-II
GOOD PSU EVGA is a B2, G2, G3, P2, GS, PS, or T2. Avoid the EVGA B1 and G1 series/ I bought a EVGA G3 with 7year garentee
