[SOLVED] should I get a PCIe SSD?

I just bought a new motherboard (ASUS Prime Z590-A LGA ) and I noticed it has a spot for something called an PCIe 4.0 SSD. do I need an sdd chip thingy for this slot?

I have 1 large regular HDD and 2 regular ssds for storage and gaming. I still have quite a bit of memory or space on the drives that go unused but I don't know if there are other important reasons to use a pcie solid state.

If you don't know, if you need it or not, then you probably don't need it.

As above...if you don't know you need it and why, you probably don't.

However, what drive is your OS and applications on?
If on the HDD, that could do with a change to an SSD....any SSD.

I have my OS on a SSD. I Just was not sure if there is something more to having ssds that are directly mounted into the motherboard or not. this is a new area for me.

The difference between an HDD and SSD is huge.
The difference between various flavors of SSD, not so huge.

In normal use, many people cannot tell the difference in a blind test.

If your system is working fine, leave it as is.
