Hi,
I have a budget HTPC that is currently connected to my soundbar via an aux cable as the motherboard (Asrock b450m-hdv) has no optical out. Would I notice an improvement with a Asus Xonar DGX fitted using the optical out? I've seen a lot of people on forums suggesting a cheap soundcard isn't an improvement over newer motherboard's onboard audio but I wasn't sure if this was the case if you currently have no optical output.
Thanks for any help,
Carey
