Hi, yesterday I was playing AOEII and my computer just froze, when restarting it wouldn't show anything onscreen and just kept rebooting itself. After lurking the forum I thought it was a dead PSU, but today after taking the RAM out of the motherboard and putting it in again the pc works again without any problem, although I also tightened the motherboard as it was very loose for some reason.

My house's electric installation is not the best, sometimes when someone turns on a light my monitor flickers, although I have a surge protector, do you guys think this could have been cause by electric instability? Should I buy a UPS to stabilize the current or does my PSU already do that?

Solution
A UPS is a good buffer for voltage drop.

"sometimes when someone turns on a light my monitor flickers "
This is usually caused by voltage drop...which is caused by the surge current of flipping something else on.

So in your case...I would think a UPS would help you.
