The patch was made to try and fix the performance problems of Bulldozer but in the end it did nothing and was removed by microsoft. You don't need a patch and even if you did download it, it more than likely wouldn't do much to help performance.

rds1220 is correct. The patches no help much.

The only thing you might have to do to get Piledriver to work is update the BIOS IF your motherboard doesn't accept the CPU's right out of the box. I don't know if that is what you were thinking of but that has nothing to do with the patches. The patches were for performance and didn't do much at that.

nope it works great right out of the box the sabertooth 990fx R2.0 motherboard was the only one capable right out of he boxm
