The bundle is £550 on amazon and the scorpio should be around the same price. I already have a gtx 1070 and 32 gb of ddr3 ram. Which would you advise me to buy?

Yeah I always play alone.

While the Fx-8350 isn't BAD, it is certainly a dead end. Again, you will need DDR4 RAM to use that new motherboard. And since you are alone, get the PC, and play games to your heart gives out.

I'd pick up a used 3rd or 4th generation i7 + motherboard and hang onto the RAM you already have. Check reddit /hardwareswap/ + craigslist and ebay. You could easily find an i7-3770k or 4770/4790k + motherboard for less than $300. The performance will be ~10% maybe less than a new 7700k, but still much higher than your FX-8350

Guys now that the xbox one x is out what do you think of my question on this forum? the console is cheaper than i thought it would be and the cpu and motherboard bundle becomes even more expensive compared to the console. but i can save money for one or the other.

2560 x 1440 60 Hz 27"

Then I expect your maintaining 60fps in most if not all games, a CPU upgrade isn't going to give you any benefit. If you were running 1080p 144Hz it might have been worth it.

Ok. So you suggest to stick to my current hardware. Will I get a better or equivalent experience than on xbox one x?

Impossible to say, the Xbox isn't out. I always prefer a keyboard and mouse over a controller.

I'd rather play with keyboard and mouse too but I have switched to controller for three reasons: i work on the PC all week and my hands and wrists start aching, I noticed that you can play more game genres with a controller than with keyboard and mouse, and I never play multiplayer games.

I think I will stick to my current build for now and give it maybe until next year and reassess the situation again. Thanks for the replies.
