Should I get an Internal or External Blu Ray Drive for the Cleanest Audio CD Rip Possible?

I plan to replace my gaming PC, including the PC case, either at the end of this year or early next year. The new build will be for both gaming and video editing purposes for a drone startup business that I may be setting up early next year. The secondary use for my PC is for ripping my audio CD collection to FLAC and using it like a stereo which is why I intend to use a Blu Ray optical disc drive for my next build. For the last five years I have used internal Blu Ray drives. Much like buying a home theater system where it is more convenient to buy all components from one manufacturer for ease of interoperability and controls, I am considering a similar approach with my next PC. I am considering purchasing the bulk of my internal computer components including the GPU, motherboard, power supply, cooling, and case from EVGA. However, I noticed on EVGA's web site that none of their cases have bays for internal Blu Ray drives. This issue may play a factor in whether I purchase a case from EVGA or someone else. I use the maximum rip setting on my music ripping software to get the cleanest music quality possible. I know that the type of optical disc drive plays a factor as to whether or not a song will playback smoothly or will playback with skips, blips, and pops. There were some discs that my internal Blu Ray drive could not rip due to scratches, but my $20 external DVD drive was able to rip them, but the songs did not always have smooth playbacks. I want a Blu Ray drive that provides the cleanest rip possible. In general, would I be better off with an internal or external Blu Ray drive? Which model(s) from either category would you recommend?

Thanks.

It's hard to say which make and model Blu-Ray ODD is the best but here's further reading for you,

best external Blu-Ray drives in 2018: https://www.lifewire.com/best-desktop-blu-ray-drives-832423

While i don't have Blu-Ray ODDs in use, i have DVD ODDs in use. And for home use, i haven't seen a difference between brands. For example: in my main PC, i have Sony ODD in use, in my 2nd PC, i have Samsung ODD in use. In past, i've had LG and Lite-On ODDs. Though, when it comes to the choice between internal vs external, i'd go with internal drive.

why not trying to slow down the rip instead of maxium speed which can cause errors. what software are you ripping with. there should be no diff internal vs external. I've ripped hundreds of music cd and all of my DVDs using a dvd internal NEC drive. I now have an external I can use for same or BD

I use mainly Media Monkey for both my audio rip and playback software. Under the maximum rip settings in both cases, I had trouble ripping a few CDs on my internal LG Blu Ray Disc drive while I had no problems ripping those same CDs with my $20 external DVD-R/RW drive. I have heard that that the type of optical disc drive I use may impact whether or not a rip is successful. That is why I am asking.
