Yes, I have a SINGLE GTX690. It is a very powerful single card, point folks have been making is expansion. Adding a SECOND GTX690 at a total cost of about $2000 is where GTX780 or 780Ti make more sense. They cost Far less, and a simply going to perform better a pair of 690's.......
Gtx 690 peforms better than 780.
The thing you don't seem to under stand is the GTX 690 is $1000 yes it performs better than the $500 gtx 780... but 2 gtx 780 outperform a GTX 690... And a single GTX 780 Ti is only slightly behind the GTX 690 and costs $300 less! And adding a second GTX 690 will not give you a whole lot of performance increase (maybe 30-50%)... where as if you had 1 gtx 780 Ti and then added a second you would see about a 90%+ increase in performance making it well outperform 2 gtx 690 and cost you $600 less.
I dont care about the price i only care about the peformance 2 gtx 690s is like 4 way sli wich is awesome because the gtx 780 will come down in next year while the gtx 690 wich is a dual gpu card will stay on the top or should i wait for the gtx 790 if it comes out ?
Lol i'm starting to think you are just trolling us... 2 GTX 690 is horrible performance per dollar... 4 way SLI is CRAP. pretty much no games support it and if they do you will see very little improvement... 2 GTX 780 Ti's will blow 2 gtx 690's away... AND cost $600 less!
I don't think you understand that adding more GPUS does not give you 100% scaling in performance per card...
2 cards does not equal 200% performance, it equals about 190%
3 cards does not equal 300% performance, it equals about 230%
4 cards does not equal 400% performance, it equals about 250%.
so going from 1 GTX 690 (100% performance) to 2 gtx 690's would give you about 130-135% performance... Where as goign from 1 gtx 780 ti (100% performance) to 2 gtx 780 ti's would give you about 190% performance.
