Yes, I have a SINGLE GTX690. It is a very powerful single card, point folks have been making is expansion. Adding a SECOND GTX690 at a total cost of about $2000 is where GTX780 or 780Ti make more sense. They cost Far less, and a simply going to perform better a pair of 690's.......

The thing you don't seem to under stand is the GTX 690 is $1000 yes it performs better than the $500 gtx 780... but 2 gtx 780 outperform a GTX 690... And a single GTX 780 Ti is only slightly behind the GTX 690 and costs $300 less! And adding a second GTX 690 will not give you a whole lot of performance increase (maybe 30-50%)... where as if you had 1 gtx 780 Ti and then added a second you would see about a 90%+ increase in performance making it well outperform 2 gtx 690 and cost you $600 less.

I dont care about the price i only care about the peformance 2 gtx 690s is like 4 way sli wich is awesome because the gtx 780 will come down in next year while the gtx 690 wich is a dual gpu card will stay on the top or should i wait for the gtx 790 if it comes out ?

Lol i'm starting to think you are just trolling us... 2 GTX 690 is horrible performance per dollar... 4 way SLI is CRAP. pretty much no games support it and if they do you will see very little improvement... 2 GTX 780 Ti's will blow 2 gtx 690's away... AND cost $600 less!

I don't think you understand that adding more GPUS does not give you 100% scaling in performance per card...
2 cards does not equal 200% performance, it equals about 190%
3 cards does not equal 300% performance, it equals about 230%
4 cards does not equal 400% performance, it equals about 250%.

so going from 1 GTX 690 (100% performance) to 2 gtx 690's would give you about 130-135% performance... Where as goign from 1 gtx 780 ti (100% performance) to 2 gtx 780 ti's would give you about 190% performance.

Alot of games use sli like battlefield 4 and what is so bad in dual gpu cards ?

SLI is very good, 3 way is still decent improvement over 2 way, its when you add a 4th card that you see very little improvement. 2 gtx 690's is 4 way sli. If you are getting 1 card the gtx 690 is fine but you leave yourself with a poor upgrade path after that... If you go 1 gtx 780 ti you can still add a second and get huge improvements in framerates.

Can you disable dual gpu cards gpus so that if i would buy a gtx 690s i would disable one of the gtx 690s cards one gpu so that i would run the cards on 3 way sli ?

No reason to disable cards... a 4th card would in most cases still give you some improved FPS... but it won't be much at all. Hmm let me try to explain it this way... If you have 1 gtx 690 lets call that 100% performance... so 1 GTX 780 ti would be about 90% performance (of a single gtx 690)

So now you add a second GTX 690 your performance now goes from 100% to about 140% (and say you were able to disable 1 of the gpus in the second gtx 690 the performance would be something like 130% of a single gtx 690)
If you had 1 gtx 780 Ti and added a second one your performance would go from about 90% to 171% of a single gtx 690.
Getting 2 gtx 690 is just a bad way to go anyway you look at it. I still think you should just one gtx 780 or gtx 780 ti and see how the performance is and then add a second one if you think its not enough for you... (at 1080p a single gtx 780 or gtx 780 ti should be more than enough)

Will 780 ti run 3 years every game in ultra settings.

I don't think anyone can tell you that for sure... Id say most games in the next 3 years will run with high to ultra settings at 1080p. But i'm fairly certain SLI gtx 780 TI will run any game at ultra settings in the next 3 years, and by buying 1 now that leaves you that upgrade path IF a second one is needed.
