Hi I currently am running
Amd 965 be
Rd 260x OC
8 gigs ddr3
Msi 970 gaming mobo
250 gig ssd
Cooler master 212+
Thermal take 750 tougg psi

I can't figure out for my gaming needs what cpu I should get I play fps based games an to solve 1 thing no I am not interested in Intel cpu's I just updated the mobo so amd only thanks

An overclocked Phenom II 965 would be fine with your 260X. Try to get it up to 3.8Ghz and you shouldn't have a problem with bottlenecks. In fact, a Phenom II 965 at 3.8Ghz would perform about the same as the FX-6300 at stock clocks.

If you replace your video card at some point though, you will likely need an Intel CPU then.
