Should i get screen tear with vertical 50-76hz

im getting a blurry line across screen while playing amnesia at 60fps that only stops when turning vsync on i got a vertical frequency of 50-76hz my graphics card is a gtx460 super overclock

It stops when vsync is on? That is the solution then, actually a common problem.
