Question should i get the Alienware Graphics Amplifier

That's just an external GPU enclosure, so you would need to then buy a graphics card for it. For you something like a 1660ti (around 250 USD) or better would be the best choice

At the end of the day it up to what kind of performance you want.

Also keep in mind I believe that the Dell Enclosure uses a proprietary connector so non Dell laptops (or any without it) won't work with this.

Don't really see the point; the CPU and the GPU are well-matched. A 6700HQ is more or less in-line with an underclocked i7-2600k and I wouldn't suggest someone bother past a 1060 with an underclocked i7-2600k. You may get some benefit from, say, a 1070/1070Ti/1660Ti, but I can't imagine you'd get anywhere near the benefit needed to justify spending $600 to upgrade to one.

That’s a nice looking laptop you have there, but I’m not sure I would go for the Alienware enclosure just because of the propriety connector. If you get an enclosure, go for something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Core-T...eway&sprefix=External+gpu,aps,240&sr=8-4&th=1

It does cost a fair bit more but it’s usb type c so should last longer, also you have the option to use it on non Alienware laptops. What gpu are you thinking of getting and what monitor will you be using?

OK yeah this is what I was thinking myself, thank you. I was just hoping it would give me a noticeable difference
