Should I get The GTX 780?

Im curently thinking of buying a geforce gtx 780....is it available in the us now???if so then which model should i buy??I was thinking between asus directcu ii or evga superclocked ......And as i want to buy it ...is it good or is there any better card at that price range??Thanks

It's got a higher boost clock rate and I can vouch for Gigabyte cards. They're fast and cool.

gigabyte have slightly higher clock speed but i will prefer evga cz of their best customer service

Personally I think the GTX 770 is the best bet for price performance. A Gigabyte GTX 770 can be had for $399 and at $200 or more the GTX 780 is just not worth the price. It is really the GTX 670 ver GTX 680 all over again. Even the cheapest Gigabyte GTX 780 is $649.

This is true, although the comparison is not quite apt, since the 780 uses GK110 architecture which is generally more efficient and better performing vs. the 770 which still uses GK104, the same architecture used in the 600 series. I agree that the 780 is overpriced though. If you're ready to spend $650 to $700 on a 780, I would do SLI 770's. You'll get much better performance.

It's only really us nerds who actually care about architecture. In terms of end results there are three questions:

- how fast is it?
- how much will it cost?
- will it work with my hardware?

It's only 15% faster on average than the GTX770. It's much more expensive than the GTX770. And prices will likely plummet when AMD's new range launches because it will be impossible for nVIDIA to justify that price tag against the competition.

I was hoping to go for the gtx 780 because my mobo which is a Gigabyte B75M-D3H wont perform good on sli and only a single gpu would definitely work for me....After seeing all of this im really confused whether to get the 770 or 780 :/

You could buy an EVGA GTX770 and sign up to their "Step Up" programme to change to a GTX780 if you don't like the GTX770.
