Should I get the GTX 970?

Hello,
I was planning on upgrading my GPU next year from a GTX 770 and I did some research on some good GPU's, and the 970 caught my attention. I wanted to know if I should wait for next gen cards to come out, or if I should plan on getting it next year.

The 770's pretty solid for a while, and it could hold you over until the next generation. Take a look a this thread for reasons to hold out unless you need an upgrade now, in which case the 970 would be a great choice!

Well, in a year a lot of things can change, there's no point in asking this now.

If you wait for the next best thing, you will wait forever.
When the time comes to buy, pick your best option then.
Today, I would not upgrade to a GTX970.
Your GTX770 is still a very good card, and a small jump to a GTX970 may leave you disappointed with a small increase.

Over time, we get better graphics price performance.
If your time frame is 6-12 months out, I expect to see a more cost efficient 16 and 20nm node arrive in products.
That should trigger another round of better price/performance.

If you were to upgrade today, the GTX980 is more likely to satisfy you.
