No, that power supply has four six/eight pin connectors for the video cards. However, the R9 290X draws 300+Watts, so two of them would be over 600W so, yes, you cannot CF two boards for your...

I'd get the Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X. It is a full $100 cheaper for the same performance but it will overclock better. AMD has really stepped up and it is worth it. Also, the Samsung 120GB EVO SSD is cheaper and just as good at the Samsung Pro 128GB.

If you can wait, the Sapphire R9 290X Vapor-X is coming soon. It has been in England for a couple weeks and was just put on sale in the US today. It is the same as the TRI-X except it has a vapor chamber over the GPU allowing it to run 5 to 10 degrees cooler, and the TRI-X runs very quiet and cool already!

In terms of performance, all R9 290x are the same. The only difference is the cooling solutions provided by different manufactures and some of them also overclock the card, but it's no different than you doing it yourself for free.
if you're looking for the coolest and quietest cards check these out
- Asus DirectCU II
- Gigabyte Windforce 3x
- Sapphire Toxic Edition
You can also use a watercooling solution. The NZXT kraken X40 is an adapter for a CPU cooler. You can buy a regular CPU cooler like the Corsair H60 and connect it to the adapter, and it fits on the GPU.

I love all 780ti's as they are amazing cards but I'm not loving that price I actually got my PNY 780ti OC for $660 after rebate from newegg.com and now they are $630, and how everyone else has noticed 290X has come down too finally. Now is the time to get a great deal since they are out there.

R9-290(x) - some cooling solutions are better than others. The clock speed marked on the box is the fastest it will go if it's cool enough, otherwise it will throttle, sometimes down to 750-850MHz. That was the problem with the reference cooler. One way around it is to have annoyingly loud fan speeds, another is a more effective cooler. You can find the best cooling solutions from reviews, there are many comparison reviews between different R9 GPUs. I found the Tri-X was generally the best for temps and noise.

WHAT???

The Vapor-X is a Tri-X with a vapor chamber added above the GPU. It runs 5 to 10 degrees cooler. It is impossible for the Tri-X to be better than the Vapor-X.

The Vapor-X will always be cooler, quieter, faster.

I wouldn't. I recently upgraded my computer to two Sapphire R9 290s for a combined total of $878. That'll give you a good deal more performance than a 780 ti at only about $70 more than the card you linked.

On the other hand, if you're dead set on only using one GPU, the 780ti is a great card. But price/performance wise, I'd still look at the R9 290, especially the Vapor-X version from Sapphire. From reviews I've seen, it OCs very well and can rival a 290x

thanks alot guys, im still undecided i just want one gpu at the moment and when i need to i would go for a 2 gpu set up but with my current power supply http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Corsair-TX750-V2-Power-Supply-Review/1227 i can only do a SLI setup which is why im inclined more to the 780ti.

Which leads me to another question, can i run the 780ti on my current PSU ? the card says i need 2 8pin connectors but as far as i can see on the cables it only has 1x 8 pin connector and it says CPU on it.. thanks for the help so far :)

No, that power supply has four six/eight pin connectors for the video cards. However, the R9 290X draws 300+Watts, so two of them would be over 600W so, yes, you cannot CF two boards for your supply is inadequate. However, two 780ti's draw a good 250W+ each, so if overclocked they can approach 300W too. So, really, either way, the 750W supply is not good for SLI/CF.
