Should I get the R9 285 or the R9 280X?

I've been looking a GPUs for a little while and was pretty set on the R9 280X then the 285 was released. Sadly it's hard not to be affected by the "oh shiny" when something new comes out, but with further inspection I find it hard to tell which GPU would better serve for higher quality gaming.

both performs reasonably well battling neck to neck but the 285 trumps it by the virtue of its extra features added in. just take powercolor's 285 and be done with it.

The 285 is not faster than the 280x, the 280x is better all the way around.

The 285 is replacing the 280, it is similar if not a tad better. the big thing with the 285 is less power usage.

Both good cards at 1080p, the 280x will play most all games on ultra.
