Solution
No I mean there's 6 or 7 fps difference between the two cards.

The issue I have with the 8gb is the price difference more than anything.
Generally $50-70 more depending on models.
That's the price of a 240gb ssd drive & If I were building a budget rig & going for the 4gb meant I could squeeze an ssd in I would 100% do that.

& really that's all there is to it , if you can afford the 8gb without compromising anything else go for it
The 4gb model though is still a very very good card.
Basically, it allows you to have more graphical quality. If you need to render more textures, you will be able to do it on the 8GB, rather than the 4GB. Think of it as a river. The wider the river, the more water can go through. If it is narrow, a lot may not be able to flow. Does that make sense?

ah, I see now, yes i agree with that. That pricing is just a bit too much for me. $40 for 4 more gigs ($10 a gig), but still, it's not that bad considering the investment. If you have the funds to get teh 8GB for it, if not, take a stab at the 4GB
