[SOLVED] should i go for a 650 or 750w for my graphics acard

i have a CORSAIR CX Series CX450 450W ATX12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply right now should i upgrade to a 650w or for $15 get the 750w or is the 750 a wast of money

I think 650w is fine.....but I advise you not to buy a crappy quality supply.

I would suggest pretty much any Seasonic PSU....or the Corsair RM, AX or HX series.

the cx450 has been working fine so far

I understand that....and probably most CXs are working fine so far.

....but I think that if you do a search on here....you will find that the VS and the CX series get a lot of bad comments because they fail a lot more often than the models I mentioned.

Does your CX PSU have a grey label or a green label? There have been a couple different variants of CX units over the years, the older green ones have a bad rep but the more recent grey ones are decent.

If you want to upgrade your PSU anyway, a 650 is more than enough even if you end up upgrading CPU/GPU and/or overclocking.
