I have researched on here and people say the i5 wont bottleneck cards yet it is £30 more than the fx-8320, meaning I will have to drop my ram to 4gb, not the most ideal thing when I will be video editing on it. Any help?
Yeah that isn't gonna bottleneck much, but as plaintuts said, the more RAM for video editing the better.
If you can get hold of an extra £30 or find the same i5 for cheaper, that'd be great though 😛
Go for FX 8320 if you are on a budget. They will preform similar. If you want to go with Intel go for the i7. It will cost 100$ more than i5 but at least you will have the highest CPU and price/preformace will be better. For now I would say go with the AMD.
And AMD CPU can be overclocked like beasts!

Go with the fx build if you must,
Rendering will take longer but it will still get the job done.
If you can also get 1866mhz ram with your budget then, by all means.

Yeah that would be alright, but then that CPU is not unlocked, so no overclocking, and cost more than the FX one.
I would suggest him to go with the AMD if he has a tight budget or if he can find somewhere an extra 30 bucks and get the Intel Core i5-4670K minimum!

There are many different flavors of the i5, from dual core with hyperthreading (2 real, 2 virtual cores) to quadcore with no hyperthreading (4 real, 0 virtual cores). Overall, the i5 full blown quad cores are generally considered the sweet spot for gaming between price and power. The FX-8000 series actually have a hard time keeping up with them and the i7's are hardly any faster in most games, especially when the i5 is overclocked.
So - a good k-series quad core i5 is a really potent gaming chip without the power and heat issues of the FX-8000 series and without the higher cost of the i7.
My suggestion would be an i5-4670k or i5-4690k. 88w processors, unlocked, full quad core.
I don't get the arguments that the i5 is faster for video editing. The i5 might beat the FX in gaming, but in video editing, the FX takes the cake. The FX is a much better value and choice for what the PC is intended for.
I think that for gaming FX 8320 will be better because has more cores.
Intel Core i5 4670K (4 Cores) vs FX 8320 (8 Cores)
So for multitasking and newer games FX will be better.
But for single threadet apps and games Intel CPU are wayyyyyy faster, because their cores are faster. But gaming needs more cores. And 8 AMD Cores are faster than 4 i5 Intel Cores.
It's your choise. And yes I'm need being a fan boy I'm just speaking the truth. 😉 Good luck with ur build 😉 And you will need 8 GB + RAM.

Ok cheers, I've managed to grab hold of 16GB ram luckily.
