Should I go for a second 980Ti?

Hi people. Currently running a MSI 980Ti (gold version, I assume it's the same as the standard red one). I was considering picking up a second for my first SLI setup, but I'm not sure whether it would be worth it or not.

I'm struggling to find another MSI 980Ti, too... but I can get an ASUS Strix 980Ti for $807 AUD. Will there be any compatibility issues between these two cards (i.e, the bridge connectors out of line, for example)?

My motherboard supports SLI, and I have a full size case so there shouldn't be any issues with actual GPU size.

Solution
Yes you could SLI any card that is the same so eg GigaByte 980Ti with a ASus 980TI as long as its the same gpu your fine but for the price of a new 980ti you might as well get a 1080 because you could get around 300 for your old 980ti
Don't do it, if it's anything like crossfire it will be hit and miss, some games support it some don't heat issues (I'm in qld) power supply etc, it's not worth the hassle.
New egg ships to Aus now, only takes a week or so to arrive.
A gtx 1070 can be bought for 580 aud, personally I would go with that.
However, if you insist on another 980, don't pay 800, that's insane they are 600 on new egg.

Well I've heard that SLI is much better than crossfire, but I could be wrong. Yeah I was looking on newegg, problem is the MSI 980Ti I saw there was the LE version which has a slower clock and memory. Not sure about the other ones on there though.

I don't really want to get a 1070, if I was to upgrade to another single GPU I would wait for a 1080 Ti if it ever comes.

Thanks for the info :)

True. I suddenly realised I have another option. I have a mini ITX gaming PC I built recently, but I had only stuck my old 280X in there. I could pick up a 1070 for that, but my only worry is the i5 6500 in it may bottleneck the 1070. Any ideas on that?
