Exactly what i was thinking. If you have the money to afford a 580 then I'm not sure why you'd look at a 7850 over say a 7870 or 7950. At stock the 7850 is about on par with the 6970, however some games it may run a bit under the 6950. I'd say go for the 7870 (~$350) over the 7850, or get the 580 since $370 is a pretty good deal for that card.

if you can fork out close to $400 definately go for the gts580. however, the HD7850 will do just about everything you need short of maxed AA or crazy eyefinity configurations. either way, they're both good cards, so look in your wallet and let the number of dollar bills/credit limit decide

Is the GTX 580 successor that's supposed to be announced in a few days going to be Kepler that I've heard so much about? What's the big deal about Kepler?

see i own a gtx 580 but i do respect amd for their price to performance cards.you should have posted STFU or something like that.i also don't like that 560SLi setup.
anyways once there was a time when we(me and my brother)purchased 580 3gb for $600 but now it's $370 LOL!!!!

I will put my money on ATi HD 7850. That GPU has 2GB Memory, provides Dual Bios function, 860MHz Core, 1200MHz Memory Clock @ 4.8Gb / sec (Bandwidth).
