Should I go for SLI?

Solution
What resolution are you running? A single 980ti is enough for anything other than 4K, or possibly 1440p @ 144hz (if the rest of your rig is high-end enough to achieve 144fps at ultra settings). You sure you need more performance than that?

970SLI in theory will spit out more frames than a single 980ti, but there are still semi-regular driver issues with SLI, plus you have additional heat and noise to contend with and no easy future upgrade.

When you start out most everyone will recommend going with the best single card you can afford and saving SLI/CFX for future upgrades. You may not quite achieve the same raw performance, but it'll save you headaches and leave you more time for gaming.
