Should I go for the i3 6100 or the FX 8320 for gaming?

I made two lists, one is an Intel Skylake build with an i3 and the other is an AMD build with a FX 8320. This build will be mainly used for gaming and the games it will need to play at 1080p with high settings (or better) are: CSGO, GTA V, DayZ SA, Arma 3 and the Division.. (and maybe some other future games too). I don't plan on upgrading any time soon so I hope it will last like 2-3 years.

Here are the two lists below. Also, I'm able to swap out the motherboard and RAM in the Intel build so that it will have DDR4. But is DDR4 worth it, and will there be a difference in terms of performance? I would go with i3 now although little bit slower than the fx but the features for skylake are awesome and also you can upgrade to i5 or i7 whereas the fx line is ending soon as zen comes out.

I would chose the i3 without question. ddr4/3 meh, no real performance diff, except ddr4 comes in higher clock speeds, but may as well stick with current tech. The 8320 is a cpu from 2012....... thats 4 years ago.... The 8320 is really not upgrade-able, am3 is a dead socket, it takes specialized applications to see any benefit from it's 8 cores. A few years from now you can stick an i5 or i7 into that intel motherboard if you need more juice.

The i3, no questions asked but don't buy DDR3. The FX range is not only weaker in games the AM3+ socket and DDR3 has no future upgrade path.

Get a H110 or 170 which runs DDR4, this gives you a socket and RAM which will be supported by next gen CPU's giving you good upgrade options

May i ask why not buying DDR3? There aren't big performance increases gaming-wise by switching from DDR3 to DDR4 from what i've seen

Will that B150 board be OK? I'll look into some H110/H170 boards however.

The i3. However, the i3 is next to useless when it comes to render times in workstation applications, but at the same time, the only difference between the two is time it'll take, the FX being the better option. But for gaming and nothing else, the i3, no doubt.

As long as it has all the features you want yes the B150 will be ok

The i3 will be a far better chip for gaming than the fx because of its better single core performance..
And you can easily upgrade your CPU later...
