HELLO GUYS
recently i have been looking to buy a new GPU for my desktop
I can spend around 200$ and the best GPUs i found is gtx 960 2GB and radeon r9 380 2GB
benchmarks say that the 380 outpreformance the 960 by 5-10 fps
but i am not sure since the 960 has more clock speed and I dont play on higher than 1080i
note that I want a graphic card to last me 3-4 years on good preformance in video games
i dont care much about the graphic
the short version of the quastion is which one of these GPUs should i get
gtx 960 or radeon r9 380 ?
and in overhual which is better ?
i want an expert anwser no just opinions
maybe i should go to 380 but I am not sure if I should get 4GB or 2GB
i have seen some videos of comparing the two version and they are almost even so is 4GB version of 380 realy worth it ?

Looks like you want someone to tell you exactly what to get, and you're leaning more toward the 380.

I'll try to be more clear - Both cards perform similarly. I don't think anyone would distinguish one from the other in a blind test.
You can't go wrong, get whichever card you feel like and you won't be disappointed.

you know the GTX 960 doesnt have enough processing power to use all 4GB VRAM it was made for only 2GB
it is good for multi screens and what above 1080p and I said that i dont play on whats higher than that

Textures, for example, sit on your gpu's VRAM. If there's not enough VRAM you'll notice significant lags.
Go 6-7 years back and you'll see the same debate over 512mb / 1024mb VRAM, and 2gb / 4gb RAM.
If they're both 2gb, then either one would work. If you just want the stronger card, the the 380 is technically stronger. Realistically the fps is a few fps difference, you may or may not notice the difference. It also depends on the games you're playing and the quality you want to play at. If you're planning on playing on ultra for a few years, you'll suffer in frame rates, but the r9 380 will technically be better for that. you'll probably be able to notice a difference up to ~45fps.

The GTX 960 is slightly better in terms of 99th percentile (perceived smoothness) and power consumption, while the R9 280 (R9 285) is slightly better in terms of average FPS.

3-4 years from now is anyone's guess, even experts, so you won't get a definite answer on that matter.

If I were you, I would get the GTX 960 4GB if it fits my budget. It should provide more than enough performance and VRAM in the coming years at 1080i/p, at high / ultra today, and maybe medium / high in a few titles or in the future.

If it's 2GB, any card will do, although stacks are slightly in favor of the GTX 960.

The 960 can utilize 4gb vram better than it's predecessors. Sure it may not be able to fully utilize the 4gb, It's still nice to have if you're planning on running a mutli monitor set up and having the extra room for some graphics mods for some games or whatever.

I wish can but in my can but in my country its more expinseve than the GTX 970
